"First chance I got to thank the Squad for an excellent clean up job. Actually the first chance I got to go out and look around. Grin. You are, in my opinion, an essential service. My neighbour would agree. They are cat people and have several times asked when I would clean up."

"Thanks so much for coming by today. Just wanted to let you know how appreciated your service is. This winter threw us a lot of curve balls and keeping up with the yard cleanup was, for the first time in my life, more than I could handle and the prospect of a big spring cleanup seemed overwhelming. So thank you."

Company

Since 1996 the Poop Squad has been taking care of Ottawa’s dogs’ business. The company was started March 1996 because we saw the need for this type of service. Having dogs of our own, we knew how messy and time consuming it was to clean our yard and dispose of the waste. Especially in the spring time when the snow has been “hiding” the mess all winter! But we also realized that there was a huge demand for a company that goes out on a weekly basis for all those busy people who love their dogs but don’t have time to clean up after them. Your time is precious, let the professionals from The Poop Squad take this task off your list.

Speaking of taking tasks off your list, The Poop Squad also provides lawn cutting and yard maintenance.

Media attention: over the years, we have had stories done about our company with many different media outlets – CBC Televsion; Ken Rockburn on CBC Radio, Steve Madely on CFRA, CHEZ 106, The New RO, Kanata Kourier Standard, The Ottawa Citizen.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you serve?

The Poop Squad services all areas of Ottawa, including Munster, Richmond, Stittsville, Kanata, Carp, Dunrobin, Nepean, Barrhaven, Gloucester, Orleans, Manotick.

Do you take away the waste and where do you put it?

Yes, we take all waste away with us and we dispose of it as per municipal regulations.

Do you take liquid waste?

No, transport of liquid waste is too difficult and there is no where to dispose of it.

Do you take pre-bagged waste?

Yes, as long as it has been bagged in appropriately sized bags for us to pick up and again, no liquid waste.

Does your service damage the lawn?

No, we take extra care to make sure your lawn looks better than ever.

Do you clean up waste in flower beds?

Yes, it is a more time consuming job as we do not want to damage any of your flowers. This could be an additional charge depending on the size of the garden.

Can my dog stay in the yard while you work?

Yes, as long as the dog is friendly and comfortable with people in your yard.

Do I have to be home when you come?

No, as long as we have access to the yard and have made arrangements for payment in advance.

What if it is raining heavily?

At times this can be an issue. But because we have such a large clientele base, we simply don’t have time to fall behind, we prefer to take care of business if the rain is on the light side. However, if the rain is extremely heavy we generally move your scheduled day to the next business day. It is near impossible to guarantee any degree of quality waste removal when the rain soaks the lawns excessively.

How do you calculate pricing?

Our prices are based on number of dogs, size of your yard and surface of your yard.

Do you offer any discounts or promotions?

We offer a discount for customers interested in prepaying for the season in advance.
